Arts, language and intercultural education

This article is structured around four questions related to the arts, language and intercultural education. Are claims for value of arts over-stated? Does use in service non-art outcomes run risk distorting art form itself? Is there a danger that incorporating education will distract from its central purpose? any risks employing support teaching interculturalism? These are used as focus discussing theoretical perspectives including justifying theories art, importance form, concept ‘aesthetic experience’, ‘learning in’ through’ arts. issues examined order illuminate practical implications context The highlights way which can help widen pedagogic horizons.
